Augustine “Augie” Merritt

Augie was born in Philadelphia on a beautiful sunny day in the city of brotherly love. He began drawing at a very young age and copying cartoons when he was the age of 6. He wrote a spinoff of one of his favorite cartoons, Curious George when he was 7 years old called “Curious George and the snail race.” He began to make small comic books out of strips of paper and stapling them together. Augie became a prolific creator using this process to create comic books during the pandemic. His first creation was called “Goofy Man.” Other characters followed including The Rattlesnake, Fat Kid, Zac, Tigry the Adventurer and that special spud, Super Potato! In 2021, he launched his own YouTube channel called Augie’s Channel where he made shows loosely based on cartoons and shows that he loves. In addition to making comics and videos, Augie enjoys racing RCs in his backyard, improvising on piano, and reading books that are often the source of new ideas for his comics. Augie is a big fan of the comic book author Dav Pilkey, the icon Walt Disney, and more recently Philadelphia native Lamar Nicholas. Augie’s narratives often confront the protagonist with an opportunity to make a good choice in solving a problem or resolving a crisis. Augie thanks you for visiting this page and hopes you will order Super Potato! Like and subscribe to Augie’s Channel on YouTube for videos and updates!
